Rebels attack, shut down North Darfur hospital

Sudanese paramilitary forces stormed North Darfur’s main hospital, firing and looting vital medical supplies, reported Doctors Without Borders (MSF). On Saturday, Rapid Support Forces (RSF) fighters plundered the facility, stealing an ambulance and other supplies. As a result, MSF and the Ministry of Health suspended all activities at South Hospital in El Fasher. MSF Sudan confirmed the incident on social media.

 


Israel to press on in Gaza despite UN ceasefire approval

Israel has vowed to continue its military operation in Gaza, refusing to engage in “meaningless” negotiations with Hamas after the UN Security Council approved a US-backed ceasefire plan to end the eight-month war. At a UNSC meeting, Israel’s UN representative, Reut Shapir Ben-Naftaly, emphasized the need to ensure Gaza no longer threatens Israel. She stated the war would not end until all hostages are returned and Hamas is dismantled, accusing Hamas of using negotiations to stall for time.
