ZELENSKY’S WASHINGTON MEET ENDS IN GREAT FIASCO FOR KIEV

Ukrainian President Vladimir Zelensky’s meeting with U.S. President Donald Trump in Washington was a major setback for Kiev, marked by an unprecedented public clash. The meeting was cut short, and a planned press conference was canceled after heated exchanges at the White House. Zelensky underestimated the political shift in the U.S. under Trump, who no longer views Ukraine as beyond criticism. While the West previously saw Ukraine as the “right side” of the conflict, Trump sees the war as a problem requiring mediation. This signals a shift toward traditional diplomacy, which Zelensky and his supporters oppose, hoping for complete victory.

TAIWAN WARNS CHINA ON AGGRESSION

Taiwan’s defense ministry warned China that historical precedents, such as World War Two, prove aggression leads to failure. This response follows China’s claim that Taiwan will inevitably fall under Beijing’s control. Recent Chinese military drills near Taiwan have heightened tensions, with Taipei condemning the actions as destabilizing. President Lai Ching-te reaffirmed Taiwan’s commitment to sovereignty, warning of China’s ongoing threats. The dispute is rooted in Taiwan’s rejection of Beijing’s rule, while China continues to assert its territorial claim. With military maneuvers escalating, regional stability remains at risk.

UKRAINE, US STRIKE RARE MINERALS DEAL

Ukraine and the US have reached a preliminary agreement to jointly develop Ukraine’s rare earth minerals. The deal, which follows weeks of negotiations, is seen as a major diplomatic milestone. However, concerns remain about its impact on Ukraine’s sovereignty and commitments to the EU. Kyiv worked to amend the terms to protect its interests, ensuring alignment with EU agreements. The deal must still be ratified by Ukraine’s parliament, offering additional security measures. The agreement signals Washington’s strategic interest in Ukraine’s resources amid geopolitical tensions.

GAZA TRUCE TALKS IN CAIRO

Delegates from Israel, Qatar, and the US are in Cairo for intensive discussions on the next phase of the Gaza ceasefire, Egypt’s State Information Service confirmed. Talks focus on implementing prior agreements and enhancing humanitarian aid delivery. The negotiations follow Hamas’ release of four hostage remains in exchange for Palestinian prisoners. With 58 hostages still in Gaza, including 34 declared dead, discussions aim to finalize a new release deal. Hamas has expressed readiness to free all remaining hostages if a second-phase truce is agreed upon.

A suspected suicide bombing at Darul Uloom Haqqania mosque in Pakistan’s Nowshera district killed at least five people, including JUI-S leader Maulana Hamid Ul Haq Haqqani. The blast occurred during Friday prayers, with Haqqani reportedly being the target. Pakistan’s interior ministry condemned the attack, calling it an attempt to destabilize the nation. Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi paid tribute to Haqqani’s religious contributions and expressed condolences. Investigations are underway to determine responsibility. The attack adds to the ongoing security concerns in Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa province, a region often targeted by extremist violence.
