Central Galactic Cosmic Explosion Forms 50 Million Suns
Researchers have observed a colossal eruption of cosmic gas at the core of a galaxy, expelling material equivalent to 50 million suns into the universe. This “gas outflow,” spanning nearly 20,000 light-years, was detected in the galaxy NGC 4383, situated approximately 54 million light-years away. The phenomenon, detailed in a recent publication in the Monthly Notices of the Royal Astronomical Society, involved gas streaming out from the galaxy at a velocity exceeding 447,000 miles per hour, encompassing nearly one-fifth of the Milky Way’s diameter.
