China Bans Import Of Japanese Seafood

China implemented a ban on importing Japanese seafood products, alleging dumping practices, likely stemming from frustrations regarding the ongoing Fukushima dispute. Accusing Japan of irresponsible conduct regarding Fukushima’s wastewater release, China’s actions indicate escalating tensions. This ban may exacerbate the dispute, as Japan perceives it as a further escalation by China.

 

Russia-Ukraine War Enters 3rd Year

Since the beginning of Russia’s special operation in Feb 2021 the war in Ukraine has continued. Even after the loss of around 31,000 soldiers, Ukraine continues to fight on. The battle scene looks stabilised at the front but the end state doesn’t appear nearby. The lack of initiatives to resolve the confrontation remains the worrying part of this bloody confrontation.

 

US, British Forces Carry Out More Strikes Against Houthis

On Saturday, officials confirmed that U.S. and British forces conducted strikes on Houthi targets in Yemen, as part of ongoing military operations against the group. These actions aim to counter Houthi attacks on shipping in the region. The United States has been conducting frequent strikes against the Houthis, who dominate populous areas of Yemen and claim solidarity with Hamas.
