China expressed concern over Japan’s intention to join AUKUS, firmly opposing the formation of exclusive alliances targeting China. Wu Qian, a spokesperson for China’s Ministry of National Defense, criticized such actions for fueling division and confrontation, emphasizing China’s stance against bloc confrontation. The statement came amid reports of Japan’s official announcement to join AUKUS and Canada’s Prime Minister considering increased submarine deployments and negotiations to join AUKUS.
