INDIA-CHINA TO RESUME HIGH LEVEL TALKS IN DECEMBER

Indian NSA Ajit Doval and Chinese FM Wang Yi are set to hold Special Representative (SR) talks in December, following agreements reached during the Kazan BRICS summit between PM Modi and President Xi Jinping. These discussions aim to address the longstanding boundary dispute. The resumption marks a thaw in India-China relations after the 2020 Galwan Valley clash. Recent engagements, including the 32nd border consultation meeting in Delhi, have paved the way for progress. The talks, likely in Delhi, highlight renewed diplomatic efforts to stabilize ties between the two Asian neighbours.

“THIRD NUCLEAR AGE”: UK MILITARY CHIEF WARNS

Admiral Sir Tony Radakin, UK Armed Forces Chief, cautioned that the world is entering a “third nuclear age,” characterized by complex threats, technological advancements, and minimal security frameworks. BIDEN PLEDGES $20 BILLION LOAN TO UKRAINE

These developments follow the announcement of a $725 million US military aid package earlier this week.

CHINESE FISHING VESSEL HIJACKED

A Chinese fishing vessel with 18 crew members has been seized by suspected pirates armed with AK-47s near Somalia, reports the EU Naval Force Operation Atalanta. The incident, labelled as a robbery at sea, marks a resurgence in piracy in the region, which had been curbed since 2012 due to international naval efforts. China, which has conducted anti-piracy missions in the Gulf of Aden since 2008 and maintains a military base in Djibouti, has yet to respond.
