MODI CALLS FOR ‘BORDER STABILITY’ AND ‘TRUST’ DURING MEETING WITH XI

Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Chinese President Xi Jinping met in Kazan, Russia, on October 23. During the meeting, Xi emphasized the need for stronger cooperation between China and India, urging both sides to enhance communication, manage differences, and pursue mutual development, as reported by Chinese state media. PM Modi welcomed the recent border truce, highlighting the importance of the India-China relationship for global peace and stability. He stressed that maintaining peace and stability at the border should remain a priority and noted the significance of this formal meeting after five years.

SOUTH KOREA TO SEND WEAPONS TO UKRAINE  

In a new twist, South Korea has now resolved to provide offensive arms to Ukraine. This is after reports emerged that North Korea started deploying troops to back up Russia in the war. That means South Korea is tightening up on regional tension as it acts firmly against the idea of North Korea’s involvement in the war. It marks an important twist of direction in foreign policy by South Korea when they move away from humanitarian aid towards military support.

INDIAN ARMY CHIEF ON LAC DEAL: “RESTORING TRUST WITH CHINA”

Indian Army Chief General Manoj Pande has called for renewed efforts in rebuilding trust between India and China, focusing on the disengagement process at the Line of Actual Control. He has laid stress on the importance of dialogue and military diplomacy in carrying out continuity along the border. The remarks come at a time when tensions between the two nations are ongoing following last year’s Galwan Valley clash.
