Trump Says NATO Should Shoot Down Russian Jets

US President Donald Trump said Tuesday he believes NATO members should shoot down Russian aircraft if they violate their airspace. Asked during a meeting with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky at the UNGA, Trump answered: “Yes, I do.” However, he stopped short of confirming US participation in such actions, saying it would “depend on the circumstance,” while stressing Washington remains “very strong toward NATO.”
