Trump’s Claim on India-Russia Oil Deal Dismissed by Sources

U.S. President Donald Trump on Saturday stated that India has reportedly ceased importing oil from Russia, calling it a “good step” if true. While speaking to reporters in Washington D.C., Trump said, “I’ve heard India may no longer be buying Russian oil. If that’s accurate, it’s a positive move.” However, India’s Ministry of External Affairs said they were unaware of any such suspension. His comments follow recent U.S. actions penalizing India for continuing oil and military imports from Moscow, including a 25% tariff hike on Indian goods. Both Trump and Secretary of State Marco Rubio previously criticized India’s Russian trade ties.

Trump Fires Jobs Data Chief After Disappointing Employment Report

On Friday, U.S. President Donald Trump ordered the dismissal of Erika McEntarfer, Commissioner of the Bureau of Labor Statistics (BLS), following the release of disappointing July employment data. The report revealed job growth falling short of expectations, along with significant downward revisions to employment figures from the previous two months. Citing concerns over data accuracy and its economic impact, Trump held McEntarfer responsible, stating that the labor numbers misrepresented the strength of the U.S. economy. The abrupt move signals the administration’s frustration with economic indicators that contradict its messaging on job creation and recovery under Trump’s leadership.

Russian MP Warns of Trump’s Nuclear Submarine Moves in Global Waters

A senior Russian lawmaker has dismissed concerns over U.S. President Donald Trump’s decision to deploy two American nuclear submarines in response to Russian military activity. Viktor Vodolatsky, a member of Russia’s State Duma, stated that the number of Russian nuclear submarines currently patrolling global waters far exceeds that of the U.S. He added that the American submarines redirected by Trump are already under Russian surveillance and control. According to Vodolatsky, no formal response from the Russian Federation is necessary, as their existing naval presence is already sufficient to counter any perceived threat from the U.S. deployments.
