UN halts food aid to Rafah
UNRWA, the UN organisation for Palestinian refugees, announced on Tuesday that it has stopped distributing food in Rafah due to a shortage of supplies and the unstable security situation.
Without providing further details, UNRWA declared the suspension in a media statement.
The UN World Food Programme (WFP) spokesperson, Abeer Etefa, issued a warning on Tuesday, stating that “humanitarian operations in Gaza are near collapse.”
Etefeh further stated that the WFP had run out of supplies and had ceased delivery in Rafah.
Kenyan troops tow Police Haiti
A senior government official in Haiti announced on Sunday that Kenyan police will be sending a multinational mission sponsored by the UN to combat gang violence there in a few weeks.
Kenya’s permanent secretary for foreign affairs, Korir Sing’Oei, told reporters, “That deployment will happen in the next few days, few weeks,” just before President William Ruto left for Washington, D.C., to meet US counterpart Joe Biden on May 23.

Zelensky wants NATO to destroy Russian missiles
Vladimir Zelensky told the New York Times that the US and its allies should shoot down Russian missiles, arm Ukraine with more weaponry, and permit Kiev to attack Russia directly.
Zelensky, on the final day of his official term as president, spoke with the US publication in Kiev. Due to the confrontation with Russia, he imposed martial law and has attempted to extend his term for that duration. He insisted NATO nations intercept Russian missiles over Ukraine.
