US demands prompt police deployment to Haiti following the deaths of missionaries

The administration of US President Joe Biden has demanded the prompt deployment of a security team headed by Kenya to Haiti in response to the murders of three missionaries who were employed by a US organisation in the violent Caribbean nation.

The non-profit Missions in Haiti Inc. made the appeal on Friday, not long after disclosing that three of its missionaries had been shot and killed on Thursday night in Port-au-Prince, Haiti, by armed assailants.

Launch of NASA PREFIRE mission to investigate Earth’s polar regions scheduled

The USS Harder was discovered 9,114 metres (3,000 feet) below the surface off the northern Philippine island of Luzon.
The 79 men who made up the crew of the Harder perished in battle on August 29, 1944.
The US Navy’s History and Heritage Command (NHHC) states that during four days during one of its last war patrols, it sunk three Japanese ships and severely damaged two more.
